Our Instructors

Among our instructors we have many qualified pilots, from holders of a Private Pilot Licenses to commercial pilots taking a break from flying the real thing to share their love of flying with our guests at iPILOT.

Dan Lane:

I’ve been flying for over six years now, and have worked my way from holding a private pilots licence to obtaining my commercial pilots licence a couple of years ago. I have had experience flying Chieftains for a calibration company in the UK, and have worked as a first officer on a Citation Jet flying to different destinations around Europe.

I have a real passion for flying and love to share my experiences with like minded people. My interest in flying has taken me all over the world including flying over in the USA (San Diego, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas).

Matt Thurlow:

Matt got his passion for aviation as an air cadet and watching military aircraft from his home county of Norfolk. After gaining his Private Pilots Licence he soon decided he wanted to fly for a job. He took his professional licences down at Exeter Airport, training alongside two of the world famous Red Arrows. Matt has flown all over the world with highlights including Las Vegas, Prague, Berlin & South Africa.

Jonathan Greig:

I’m Jonathan Greig, 40 years young and I work at iPilot two days a week. I combine working here with managing a small property business with my wife back home in Kent.

From an early age I have always had an interest in flying, travel and machines! What better job could combine all these interests. So after University and a career in London spanning 20 years or so, I finally had the funds to pursue my passion and obtained my CPL IR and ‘frozen’ ATPL from Cabair in 2010.

I actually first came to iPilot as a customer after my wife bought me the experience as a present. I loved it so much I sent in my CV and now I work 2 days a week! I get to fly an aircraft and I get paid for it!

The best airport I’ve flown into: Valencia – beautiful city, always warm and by the sea.
